2. Ely Cathedral
Along with Peterborough Cathedral, it is one of the most important 12th century, structures in Cambridgeshire. It was granted its cathedral status in 1109 and is currently the seat of power of the Bishop of Ely. It is known for its lofty, ornate arches and high domes, standing true to its Gothic style and it receives over 300000 visitors every year. It has separate chapels and choirs inside.
