4. Anderton Boat Lift
Anderton Boat Lift is an incredible structure built in 1875 by Edwin Clark to lift boats from the River Weaver and place them down on the Trent & Mersey Canal. It is one of the structures that has stood the test of time and stands testimony to the fact that Britain was once the most preeminent industrial and technological powerhouse in the world. The lift is still operational.
